What exactly is the Sovereign Hands method? The Sovereign Hands method is a form of shamanic reiki. Over the course of Erin's healing practice, both her shamanic healing training and reiki training merged into one, beautiful practice that truly goes deeper than either practice alone. In a session, the practitioner will use a variety of reiki and shamanic healing tools and techniques dependant on the unique needs of each client. These tools include simple hands on reiki, chakra realignment and rebalancing, energy extraction using both the hands and sucking medicine, energy replenishment using Sacred Breath and several different hands on energy balancing methods. On a deeper level, a practitioner may perform Psychopomp work (helping disembodied entities leave the client's body and make their crossing), Soul Retrieval and Curse Unravelling. As you can see, each session is unique and deeply transformative.
I already have Reiki training. Do I have to start at Level 1? Every student who trains in the Sovereign Hands method begins at the beginning. There are a few reasons for this. The style of Reiki taught in the Sovereign Hands method is from the Komyo lineage rather than the more westernized Usui lineage. Komyo's unique attunements, symbols and energy signature differentiate it from most Reiki training in the West. The shamanic elements of this program are also not taught in a conventional Reiki training. As a result, there is valuable content that would be missed should a student skip a level. Lastly, there is so much content woven throughout the program covering Ethics, Working in the Light, Developing Conscious, Intentional Relationships with Spirit Guides, Personal Energy Management and more that each level (even Level 1) has content that becomes the building block for the next. More than one student has said something along the lines of, "I've taken Reiki training before but I never learned this!".
Do I need prior experience with Reiki or shamanic practice to join? No experience is needed to join the Sovereign Hands program! Level 1: The Awakening is designed as an entry level program and introduces students to foundational reiki and shamanic skills and concepts. Students will receive 4 Level 1 Komyo Reiki attunements, meet and begin relationships with 2 Animal Guides, blend their own smudge in Erin's signature style, learn to smudge themselves and others (there's more to it than one might think!) and more. It is from here, in Levels 2 & 3 that skills become more advanced.
What is the 3-Fold Covenant? Healing doesn't happen in a vacuum. Everyone involved needs to be present and engaged to achieve the best possible results. The 3-Fold Covenant describes the beautiful, powerful synergy that occurs when we recognize that there are three equally important participants in a healing session: the client, the practitioner and Spirit. When all three are engaged in a session, this is when we open the door for miracles.
How is the program structured? Each level begins with a three day, in person intensive. In person class is held Friday evening, all day Saturday and all day Sunday. These are big weekends full of incredible learning! In Level 1, the weekend is followed by two online follow up classes for content and practicum support. In Levels 2 & 3, the weekend is followed by five (5) in person practicum support sessions. These are mandatory sessions and are designed to offer instructor support for the skills being developed. Additionally, in Level 2, students complete five (5) distance sessions, one of which happens in class. The remainder of these sessions are scheduled by students outside of class. Each level closes with a full day, in person final assessment, graduation and potluck. A big part of the program is the community we build along the way!
What kind of ongoing support can I expect? This is NOT a "Train 'em and ditch 'em" program! Too many trainings out there take your money, train you at a superficial level and then leave you with no support moving forward. Here, we are growing a beautiful, rich and deep community with many opportunities for connection and support, even once you've graduated your class. Erin offers monthly reiki circles exclusive to Sovereign Hands students. She also schedules regular live healing demos so you can see her at work and learn directly from her experience. Additionally, there are quarterly socials for Sovereign Soul Academy members to enjoy Sacred Community together. And of course, Erin is always a message away and is happy to answer any questions you may have along your journey.
Will I receive a certification? Upon graduating each level, the student is certified to practice at their level of training. Level 1: The Awakening is for self healing, building foundations, and building the skills to offer support to loved ones and close friends in a "no charge" practice. Level 2: The Sovereign Practitioner entitles the graduate to open a professional practice of their own. Upon graduation they will have developed advanced skills, unparalleled ethics and the ability to hold deep and beautiful space for their clients. Level 3: The Spiritwalker brings the practitioner into the deepest levels of practice. Upon certification at this level, the practitioner will have the skills to perform Spirit Lawyering in a number of capacities including Psychopomp, Soul Retrieval and Curse Unravelling. The graduating student at each level receives a beautiful certificate to display and celebrate their achievement.
What tools will I receive? In Level 1, students will learn Erin's signature style of smudge blending. They will make their own custom blends and have some to take home. In Level 2, students receive the tools needed to practice the skills learned. These include a proxy for distance healing work, pendulum, unique shifting crystal for sucking medicine, a barrier crystal for breathwork and a custom hip pouch to keep these tools safe and at hand during a session. In Level 3, students will build their own medicine drum including mallet. They will also receive a small rattle for healing work.
How much time should I expect to dedicate outside of class sessions? Each level has distinct practicum requirements. In Level 1, students are expected to complete 21 Self Healing Sessions between their in person weekend and their graduation. At least three of these sessions are expected to be full sessions lasting approximately an hour. (One of these full sessions happens in class, leaving the other two to be completed at home) The remaining sessions, however, are encouraged to be targeted sessions lasting anywhere from 10-30 minutes. Additionally, students are expected to complete 3 full sessions with another person. 1 session occurs within class time, leaving 2 sessions to be completed as practicum requirements outside of class. In Level 2, students are required to complete 5 in person, full length sessions aiming to incorporate as many learned skills as possible. These mandatory sessions are held in the Supported Practicum Sessions facilitated and supervised by Erin. Additionally, students are required to perform 5 distance sessions with others outside of class time. At least two of these must be full sessions with their proxy and three may by shorter, targeted sessions. In Level 3, students are required to complete 3 practicum sessions each for Psychopomp work, Soul Retrieval and Curse Unravelling. Many of these can be completed in the five mandatory Supported Practicum Sessions facilitated and supervised by Erin.
Why are these classes so involved? Many trainings out there now are very superficial and have students leaving these programs without the foundations really needed to be grounded in their practice. Erin has made a strong commitment to create a program and community that supports the deepest learning. In this way, students are supported in building a practice that is rooted in real world experience and strong, well practiced skills. The rigor of this program results in skilled practitioners who hold safe, beautiful space for their client's unique needs.
What is the cost and are payment plans available? Each level is priced competitively considering the level of support and tools included. Pricing is as follows: Level 1: The Awakening $497 You can secure your spot with a $100 deposit and make payment arrangements directly with Erin. Level 2: The Sovereign Practitioner $997 You can secure your spot with a $300 deposit and make payment arrangements directly with Erin. Level 3: The Spiritwalker $1,497 You can secure your spot with a $500 deposit and make payment arrangements directly with Erin. Alternatively, you can bundle all three courses to receive $300 off the total tuition. This option can be secured with a $500 deposit and payment options can be made directly with Erin. By choosing to bundle your courses you are committing to all dates within a specific cohort. Be sure to double check your availability.
What's your refund policy if I can't continue? All deposits for class are non-refundable and non-transferrable. This is because each registration incurs hard costs that cannot be recouped by Erin. Should a student have to withdraw from the program before it begins, no additional charges will be extended to the student. No refunds will be issued once the program has begun and all payment plans must be honoured regardless of completion. This is to honour the spot that has been filled by the student and this income cannot be replaced by another student once the program has begun.
Will this conflict with my existing religion/spiritual beliefs? This practice is not a religion, in itself. Rather, it is a spiritual practice that helps one build relationships in Spirit and develop their own spiritual connection. I have seen it co-exist with and beautifully support several different spiritual worldviews. This practice is about deepening and broadening your spiritual container, not restricting or replacing it.
How will this training benefit me? This work can truly benefit most aspects of your life, both professional and personal. From an energy management and spiritual connection standpoint, students learn to walk in a more centred, Spirit-informed way in all aspects of their lives. The hands on skills can be applied within multiple frameworks from working on oneself and close family and friends, to incorporating into your own therapeutic practice. Whether you are a massage therapist, energy worker, ritualist or want to use this as a standalone practice, the skills taught in this program will bring your own professional practice to the next level. And then there's the community. A place for kindred souls to connect within this practice. A common ground of people working In The Light together for the highest good of all.
I'm not sure I'm intuitive enough for this work. Is that ok? This program is designed to cultivate your intuition and spiritual connection. Every person is intuitive in their own way. In this program, students learn the art of Deep Listening: both to their own High Self and Spirit Guides as well as to their clients and 'out in the world'. When we practice Deep Listening we practice intuitive connection.
